Dalkeith is a cattle stud and commercial operation running 1200 cows, of which approximately 400-500 have AI each year. “We have been regular clients of Brendan since he began doing AI. He is always very thorough and gets a good percentage of calves. Using AI techniques on our herd brings calving into a tighter timeframe and means we are able to use bulls that otherwise would not be accessible. We keep using Brendan because he’s achieved the results.”

The Wagyu industry is still a very young breed in Australia, hence the very small numbers. To increase the size of studs and to establish the industry a lot of work is done with artificial breeding.
